Building a Smart Learning Ecosystem, Tunas Bangsa Christian School Continues AI Training Through TLC “Gemini Canvas”

Committed to providing education that remains relevant to the changing times, Tunas Bangsa Christian School consistently facilitates the professional development of its educators. On September 24, 2026, the school once again held its ongoing Teacher Learning Community (TLC) program, attended by teachers from Kindergarten through Senior High School.

This TLC session was tailored to the policies and needs of each school level and campus. Some units conducted onsite sessions with speakers present at the venue, while others utilized Zoom. Several school locations also joined together to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom, specifically “Gemini Canvas.”

Smart Learning Roadmap: From Foundations to Classroom Practice

Today’s technology exploration session is part of a structured and continuous human resource development roadmap at Tunas Bangsa Christian School:

  1. AI Training Kick-off (July 9, 2026)
The program began with a major training session titled “Educating 21st Century Learner in the Age of AI,” held at Abbalove Industri. Featuring education experts from REFO, Steven Sutanto and Gusman Adi, the session equipped teachers with a foundational understanding of new educational paradigms amid the disruption brought about by artificial intelligence.

  2. “Gemini Notebook” Deep Dive & Sharing Best Practices (August 27, 2026)
The program continued with technical training on utilizing the Gemini Notebook features. Following the session, teachers immediately applied the tool in their respective classrooms and shared their experiences and best practices with fellow educators.

  3. “Gemini Canvas” Exploration (September 24, 2026)
Building on the practical experience gained from the previous session, today’s TLC focused on exploring Gemini Canvas to optimize lesson planning and create more interactive learning visualizations. The session will be followed by independent exploration by teachers, along with opportunities to share experiences and best practices among educators.

  4. Preparing for the Next Session — “Canva AI” (October 22, 2026)
In response to the growing need for dynamic learning visualization, the AI training series will continue next month with an exploration of AI-powered features on the Canva AI platform.

Optimizing “Gemini Canvas” for Interactive Learning

During today’s TLC session, educators were invited to practice firsthand how Gemini Canvas can function as a collaborative assistant. Teachers explored ways to design teaching materials, visualize complex ideas, and develop dynamic and personalized assessment frameworks according to the developmental needs of students at each educational level.

“We view AI, including Gemini Canvas, not as a replacement for teachers, but as a tool that expands their capabilities. By mastering this technology, our teachers can design more effective learning experiences, giving them more time and energy to focus on character development and meaningful personal interactions with students,” said Edberg Warbung, M.Pd., M.M., Head of the Curriculum Division at Tunas Bangsa Christian School.

Teachers Who Learn for the Next Generation

The regular implementation of the Teacher Learning Community demonstrates Tunas Bangsa Christian School’s commitment to fostering a culture of lifelong learning among its educators. This structured professional development ensures that teachers not only have strong academic expertise but are also able to adapt to advances in modern technology.

All these efforts to improve the quality of teaching ultimately support the school’s primary commitment to nurturing a generation with Christ-like character, strong competencies, and leadership qualities, who can be a blessing to others (Building a Mighty Generation).

By integrating faith-based values with 21st-century technological skills, Tunas Bangsa Christian School continues to strengthen its commitment to becoming a Smart Learning institution that prepares and empowers students to lead the future.
